School Event: School Camp 2008

4 to 6 June 2008

The fun started as soon as we arrived. We unpacked then went on a short walk to the local park. We played games, sunbathed and had a picnic. We went back to camp and were let loose in the woods. It was so scary at first - we thought we might get lost. But we soon realised that if we stuck to the path we would find our way back to camp.

The sun shone brightly for the three days we spent at there. We went on a nature walk where we collected leaves to make a collage. We had to do the nightline. The nightline is when you are blindfolded and taken into the woods; your hands are put on a line which you must follow. It was so scary as you could not see where you were going.

We collected wood to make a camp fire. We roasted potatoes, marshmallows and crumpets on the fire - they were delicious.

Our Headteacher came to camp to run his version of 'It's A Knockout!'. It was great. We had to throw and catch water balloons and eggs, and get Smarties out of a plate of flour without using our hands (difficult). There were lots more to do and only one team could win.

We went a midnight walk with our torches. It was so dark in the woods and at one point we had to turn off our torches and walk in the dark (spooky).

The food was fantastic because it was cooked by us, and served by us. The teachers did supervise in the kitchen - but only a little bit (ha ha).

The funniest moment for us was when children got stuck in swampy/muddy areas in the woods. The saddest moment is when we had to leave (aaah).
