School Event: Sports Relief Week
19 to 22 May 2008
Our aim was to raise money for less fortunate children than ourselves.
Monday, Day 1: At Arden Primary School sports relief kicked off with Key Stage 1 children. They wore their own sports kit and ran near enough a mile. Year 5 encouraged them and luckily did from five to twenty laps around the playground. They were great.
Tuesday, Day 2: Lucy, a professional skipping coach, came to teach us how to skip professionally. She taught us many different skipping skills such as scissors, double Dutch, crisscross and butterfly. I really enjoyed that day.
Wednesday, Day 3: Today all the classes in the school performed. Us children did different moves. Kamran and another boy did double Dutch. Furthermore Javaria did the pretzel - wow.
Thursday, Day 4: Today after a long time waiting it was Year 4s turn to run our mile. Luckily I ran 19 laps, better still, the winner with 23 laps each were Shoab and Rashad. Soon after the teachers and children played different sports: football and rounders. It was sensationally amazing.
Over £200.00 was raised for young carers like Solange who lives in the slums of Brazil and Jack who has to look after his disabled sister.
