Our Work - Mr Banner Asks...

Every fortnight Mr Banner asks a science question. One that will get you thinking, investigating the meaning of some difficult words, using what you know about science to help you work out what you don't know, discussing the question with your friends and family, carrying out some research, trying out your ideas and asking questions about questions. Finally you come up with an answer.

At the top is Mr Banner's latest question:

Mr Banner asks the following question...

At the moment there are a lot of fireworks being set off to celebrate a variety of events. Why don't we have daytime firework displays?

Mr Banner asks the following question...

When astronauts go to the moon, they are able to jump much higher than they are on Earth, despite wearing lots of heavy clothing. Why?

Mr Banner asks the following question...

When people jump out of an aeroplane they have to wear a parachute. How does the parachute work? How does it enable the person wearing it to return safely to the ground?

Mr Banner asks the following question...

In the winter some animals hibernate. Why do they do this?
